Consilient Featured at the Egmont Plenary
The 29th Annual Egmont Group Plenary was recently held in Abu Dhabi. Hosted by the United Arab Emirates’ Financial Investigation Unit (FIU), the plenary is one of the premiere FIU events of the year, with more than 500 FIUs in attendance.
With the theme of this year’s Plenary being “Use of Advanced IT Technologies by FIUs to Enhance their Operations,” Consilient CEO Gary Shiffman was one of the panelists. He discussed, among other things, the potential of artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning and privacy-enhancing technologies like federated learning (FL) to transform the way organizations fight financial crime.
Consilient’s sister company K2 Integrity was also at the event, which included members of the private sector for the first time – including Google and others. Together Consilient and K2 discussed how FL and other technologies can be used by FIUs to enable collaboration between organizations, without violating privacy regulations, to combat money laundering and other financial crimes.
